Well another year has come and gone, wow time flies when your having fun and working hard. Christmas season came & went with many happy guests like the years prior. We were so busy we were turning people away. This happens every year during holiday season. So it’s super important to always book ahead during peak seasons. Which are right after turkey day through to mid January. Then we slow down for a few weeks and ramp up again February. LOL So it’s best to call ahead. We finally took a Christmas vacation, first time we left island as a family in fifteen years!! We are normally too busy and afraid to leave our operation but this year was different. We have the most amazing crew, Captain Brit young but sea worthy and earning the respect of many fishermen in the sport fishing community, along with our #1 crew man Ikena, #2 Makena, #3 John Luke & yes good old salty dog Captain Lance. I will be adding a biography page featuring our guys. Look for it it’ll be good!
Well lets get to it shall we? Fishing off the beautiful island of Kauai never gets boring really, yes we slow down but it’s amazing out there on the deepest of blue oceans. Seabirds all around, spinner dolphins and the majestic green, Kauai. I can’t forget the humpback whales who are here birthing their young there are a lot less but they are there.
The Ho’omaikai is a low profile 30 X 10 foot Wilson built specifically for the ocean conditions off Kauai. She is wider than most of the fishing fleet, has center seating with a custom shade canopy. There is plenty of deck space and most important railing & nonskid surface to keep you & yours safe. Yes there is a head aka restroom.
The catch lately has been yellow fin tuna (ahi), skip jack tunas (starkist tuna), wavy back tuna, mahi mahi, ono here & there, sail fish, a marlin last week, Uku (grey snapper), Kahala (amber jack) a few trevally & sharks. Well that’s a variety to say the least! Fishing has been consistent for us. Our guys will hunt them down and they keep receiving gracious praises on review sites such as Trip Advisor, Yelp & Google. Go team!
We love what we do, we have the expertise & knowledge to get the job done. Captain Lance hand picks each and every single person who joins our team, he’s picky. But it’s because he cares about who is representing our business. Our guys are humble and very hard working. Again please see the wonderful reviews.
