Aloha, there has been a little shift in our operation at Ohana Fishing Charters. Captain Lance & his wife Cynthia who have owned and operated this successful charter business here on Kauai have taken us under their wing, to be part of the team at OFC. Captain Britt is now in a management position and is lead Captain. Myself, well my name is Maya Capt. Britt’s better half. I have come in to help as well!
Captain Britt has worked under Lance’s wing for four years and counting. He has been on boats fishing most of his young life. On Kauai learning from local legends, picking up techniques from the most knowledgeable fisherman around the island. He has a stellar reputation for being one of the youngest and most talented captains around with an immense knowledge of the ocean and environment of Hawaii.
After taking time away from Kauai to captain surf charters in Indonesia Britt returned to Kauai. Capt. Lance took hired Britt and taught him everything he knew from his extensive experience as a fisherman. Captain Lance has fished around the world, it is all he has done his whole life and has made a lifelong career of it and now Captain Britt is following suit. How many people have a job where they get to do what they love? FISHING!!
During the pandemic Britt started fishing commercially and collaborated with the local small-scale fishermen to help provide affordable, sustainable, and local fish for our North Shore community. Now, with tourism picking up again, Captain Britt is back on water running charters almost every day. We are thankful for all our amazing guests who choose to come fish with us! Ohana Fishing Charters has been fully booked up. Britt & I are even more thankful for Lance and Cynthia for making us part of their Ohana!
